Glitter Raw Material Glossary

A material claim that must be supported by a current report for the exact SKU, including the test method, detection limit, tested sample, issuer, and date. It does not by itself establish suitability for skin or eye use.

A broad marketing term that is meaningful only when the exact material, test method, environment, conditions, result, and claim scope are stated. Freshwater, marine, soil, home-compost and industrial-compost results are not interchangeable.

A batch document reporting selected results against a stated specification. Buyers should verify the issuer, batch number, methods, limits, results, date and relationship to the delivered SKU.

A numerical measure of color difference. Interpretation depends on the formula used, instrument settings, illuminant, observer, substrate and agreed tolerance; acceptance criteria should be written into the specification.

An imprecise phrase that should not be treated as a certification. FDA does not certify cosmetic ingredients or finished cosmetics; permissions can depend on the exact color additive, intended use and exposure area. Request SKU-specific documentation and obtain a destination-market review.

Evidence for a freshwater claim must identify the program or test method, certificate or report holder, exact covered material, conditions, result, dates and permitted wording. It must not be extended to other environments, colors, coatings or product families without evidence.
